Rovinia Beach in Corfu was one of the lovely discoveries of our stay in Liapades. The water was beautiful, and the large cave beside the bay made the setting even more impressive. We reached it on foot from the beach at our hotel, Blue Princess, so visiting did not require a separate drive.
This is our experience of Rovinia Beach, illustrated with our own photographs from our Corfu holiday.

Our Walk from Blue Princess to Rovinia Beach

We were staying at Blue Princess and set off from its beach. The walk to Rovinia felt short: we would put it at around ten minutes, possibly a little less. We did not time it, so treat that as our recollection rather than an exact route measurement.
It was convenient to have another beach within walking distance of where we were staying. For us, this was a simple way to see more of the coastline without getting back into the car.
Choose your route according to where you are actually starting. The time from the hotel’s beach is different from a walk starting higher up in Liapades village, and the approach includes uneven ground.

The Water at Rovinia Beach
The water was the first thing we wanted to mention afterwards. It looked beautiful against the rocks and the green slopes around the bay. This is the sort of place where the view itself becomes a big part of the visit: the shoreline, water and surrounding landscape all fit together.
Our photographs show why it left such a strong impression on us. If you enjoy small bays with a natural setting, Rovinia is a lovely place to consider while staying around Liapades.

The Large Cave Beside Rovinia Beach
The cave was the other standout feature of our visit. Its size made it impressive to see beside the beach, and it added something different to the usual sea view. We would include it among the reasons to come here, even if you are mainly visiting for the water.
The regional tourism guide also describes a rocky cove and cave at the left-hand end of the beach when facing the sea. Keep an eye on the conditions around the rocks and cave entrance; calm-looking water in a photograph does not tell you how the sea will behave on another day.

Rovinia Beach Parking and the Final Walk
There is parking near the beach, and we photographed the parking area during our visit. The sign in our photograph lists €5 for a car, €3 for a motorbike and €10 for a van, and asks visitors to pay on arrival. These were the displayed prices during our visit; check the current sign when you arrive. We came on foot and did not pay for parking ourselves.
Corfu’s official visitor guide describes a final walk of approximately 200 metres along a narrow rocky path after parking. Where you find a space will affect the distance you still have to walk. Wear shoes with grip for the approach and carry what you need for your time at the beach.

What to Bring to Rovinia Beach
Bring drinking water, sun protection, a towel and suitable footwear for the path. Water shoes may also be useful around the stones. The regional tourism guide presents Rovinia as a natural beach without a regular sunbed-and-umbrella setup, so bring the things you need rather than depending on beach facilities.
