Corfu Blue Lagoon Cruise: Our Day with Captain Theo

Our Corfu Blue Lagoon cruise took us across to the coast of mainland Greece for a day of swimming, lunch and music with Captain Theo. We travelled on 30 September 2026, and the day ended with dancing at the front of the boat. The clear water was part of the appeal, but the cheerful captain and the atmosphere on board made this trip memorable too.

Meeting Point and Free Parking in Corfu

The waterfront jetty in our photos is where we gathered before boarding. Our booking gave the meeting address as Leof. Dimokratias 7, Corfu 49100, with departure at 9 am. We were asked to be there 30 minutes earlier, so the time to aim for at the jetty was 8.30 am.

Arrive Early to Find a Parking Space

There were free parking spaces along the road beside the waterfront when we visited. You can see the parked cars in our photograph. Our advice is to come earlier than the boarding time: you still need to find a space, park and walk over to the boat. A space right beside the jetty is not guaranteed, and you should check the signs where you leave the car.

On Board Captain Theo's Boat

This is a shared excursion boat with other passengers. There is covered seating inside and open deck space outside, so you can sit under cover for the crossing or go out to enjoy the view. At the back of the boat there is a small waterslide and access to the water for the swimming stops.

The Blue Lagoon and Mainland Greece Route

The tour we booked is listed as the Blue Lagoon cruise with fresh lunch and swim stops. Its advertised route includes Crystal Bay, the Blue Lagoon, the Blue Cave and the natural Sivota canal along the mainland coast. Check the current itinerary when booking, as conditions can affect the day’s route and timings.

Swimming from the Boat

Our photos show the boat stopped beside a rocky shoreline, with passengers going straight into the clear water from the rear platform. Bring your swimwear and a towel somewhere easy to reach. You can stay aboard if you prefer to enjoy the coastline without swimming.

For the practical side of planning a day on the water, see our TRAVEL INSURANCE GUIDE and check that your chosen policy covers the activities you plan to do.

Lunch and Wine on Our Corfu Blue Lagoon Cruise

Food was included in the price of our cruise. We were also offered white or rosé wine, and it was possible to go back for more food. That is a useful detail if you are comparing this trip with cruises where you have to buy lunch separately.

Lunch was served on board, with passengers eating in the covered seating area. The operator’s menu description mentions Greek kebab, chicken schnitzel, Greek salad and tzatziki; the photographs here show the food service on our trip. Other orders from the bar were separate from the wine served with our meal. Check the current inclusions before booking, particularly if you have dietary requirements.

Music and Dancing on the Corfu Blue Lagoon Cruise

Captain Theo was cheerful and kept the atmosphere lively. There was music and dancing at the front of the boat, and we joined in with the other passengers. This was one of the most enjoyable parts of our day — a relaxed boat trip turned into a party on deck.

Another Boat Trip to Compare: Paxos and Antipaxos

If you would like to compare a different route, the Paxos, Antipaxos and Blue Caves day cruise is another option from Corfu. It combines sea caves, a swimming stop off Antipaxos and time in Gaios on Paxos. This is a separate excursion, not the Captain Theo trip described in our review.

Planning More Time in Corfu Town

For another day in the area, our CORFU OLD TOWN GUIDE covers our walk through the streets, fortresses and waterfront. Keep in mind that this cruise already takes most of the day.
