Canal d’Amour Corfu: Our Visit, Beach Views & Parking

Canal d’Amour Corfu is a place to explore slowly. The narrow sea channel, pale layered cliffs and little sandy bay give you several different views within a small stretch of coastline. We visited during our Corfu holiday and took the photographs in this guide along the approach, beside the channel and from the rocks above the sea.

If you enjoy small coves and unusual coastal scenery, this is a good stop to include in your trip. There is room to sit beside the water, but the beach itself is compact. Much of the appeal is in walking around and seeing the rock formations from different angles.

Where Is Canal d’Amour?

Canal d’Amour is in the Sidari area on Corfu’s north-western coast. Greece’s official tourism website highlights its sandstone formations, while Visit Corfu describes the rocky setting and natural pools. It is a coastal sightseeing stop as well as a place people come to swim.

The signs in our photographs leave no doubt about the name: “CANAL D’AMOUR” and “KANALI TOU EROTA”. A second sign welcomes visitors to the viewpoint. Once you reach this approach, follow the marked route towards the sea.

Canal d’Amour Corfu: Parking and the Approach

Our parking photographs show cars on both sides of a paved approach between accommodation buildings. A blue Canal d’Amour sign points ahead, and a yellow dashed line continues along the ground towards the coast. These are useful landmarks when looking for the pedestrian approach.

Do not assume every space beside a hotel is public parking. Before leaving your car, check the signs or ask the person managing the area whether visitors can park there.

The Small Beach and Layered Cliffs

The sandy bay is tucked between pale rock formations. In our photographs, people are sitting on the sand and spreading towels on the flatter ledges beside the channel. The different layers in the cliffs are particularly clear from the side, with curved lines running just above the water.

This is a compact setting rather than somewhere with endless space to spread out. If your priority is the scenery, it is worth looking beyond the sandy section: the channel and the coastal viewpoints give the visit its character.

Walking Around the Channel

The paths change as you move closer to the coast. Some sections are paved, while others are worn into dusty ground and rock. Our photographs show steps, uneven surfaces and exposed edges. Shoes with grip are a sensible choice for looking around.

You do not have to swim to appreciate Canal d’Amour. From the side of the channel, you can look along the gap towards the open sea. Further around the headland, the view opens up to blue water and the neighbouring coastline.

Swimming and Time Beside the Water

People were using the beach and rock ledges when we visited. That does not establish that every entry point is suitable for swimming. Check the sea conditions on the day, choose an entry and exit you can manage, and avoid jumping from the cliffs: a clear view from above does not confirm the depth below.

Bring water, sun protection and a towel if you plan to stay. The exposed coastal paths in our photographs have little shade. Before travelling, read your policy documents and check the activities covered; our TRAVEL INSURANCE GUIDE explains our experience.
