Hotel Baviera Marbella Review: Our Honest Stay in the City Centre
Our Stay at Hotel Baviera Marbella
We stayed at Hotel Baviera Marbella during our road trip through southern Spain. For us, the biggest advantage was its central location. We could leave the rental car near the hotel and explore much of Marbella on foot instead of driving every time we wanted to go out.
The Old Town, seafront, restaurants and bars were all within easy walking distance. That made the hotel especially convenient in the evenings, when we preferred to walk or take a taxi rather than deal with parking again.
The hotel itself felt practical rather than luxurious. Our room was comfortable, the location worked very well for our plans, and for a short stay in Marbella it gave us exactly what we needed.

Hotel Baviera Marbella Location
One of the main reasons Hotel Baviera worked well for us was its central location. We could walk to Marbella Old Town, the seafront, restaurants and bars without needing the car.
For Puerto Banús, we chose to take a taxi instead of driving. Parking there can be difficult in the evening, so leaving the rental car near the hotel was much easier for us. We spent the evening walking around the marina, looking at the yachts, luxury cars and busy nightlife before taking a taxi back to Marbella.

Our Room at Hotel Baviera Marbella
We booked a Double or Twin Room with a balcony, measuring approximately 18 m². For our one-night stay, we found the room comfortable and perfectly adequate for two people.
The room was simple rather than luxurious, but it was clean, bright and had everything we needed for a short stay in Marbella.

The room included air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a TV, minibar and safe, as well as a private bathroom and balcony.
There was enough space around the bed to move comfortably, and the room felt practical rather than cramped.

For us, that was exactly what we wanted. We were not looking for resort-style facilities because we planned to spend most of our time exploring Marbella. What mattered more was having a clean, comfortable room in a central location where we could return after a day out.

Bathroom and Room Facilities
The bathroom at Hotel Baviera was compact but perfectly functional for our short stay.
It had a walk-in shower, toilet, bidet and washbasin, with toiletries and towels provided. Everything was clean when we arrived, which for us is far more important than having an elaborate bathroom in a city-centre hotel.

Overall, the room and bathroom were relatively simple, but they did what we needed them to do. If you are looking for a luxury resort with extensive facilities, Hotel Baviera probably isn’t that type of hotel.
For a short Marbella city break in a central location, however, we found the room practical and comfortable.
Our Balcony at Hotel Baviera
One feature we particularly appreciated was having a private balcony.
It wasn’t a large terrace with a sea view, but for a city-centre hotel it was a useful extra. There was enough space to step outside, sit down and enjoy some fresh air without leaving the room.

The balcony overlooked the surrounding city buildings rather than the Mediterranean, so we wouldn’t book this hotel specifically for the view.
However, when choosing between similarly priced rooms in central Marbella, we would happily take the balcony again. For us, it made the room feel less enclosed and was a pleasant place to sit for a while before heading back into the city.
Parking at Hotel Baviera – We Found a Free Option Nearby
We travelled to Marbella by car, so parking was an important consideration when choosing where to stay.
Hotel Baviera offered private parking for €15 per day at the time of our stay, but we decided not to use it.
Instead, we found free parking only around a two-to-three-minute walk from the hotel. For us, this worked perfectly. We left the car there and explored central Marbella on foot.
Of course, free parking spaces cannot be guaranteed – availability can depend on the time of day and how busy Marbella is. But based on our own experience, it is worth checking the nearby streets and parking areas before automatically paying for hotel parking.
Having a car was also useful for the wider trip, as it gave us the freedom to explore beyond central Marbella without relying on public transport.

Breakfast at Hotel Baviera – We Would Skip It
Breakfast was the weakest part of our stay.
It was not included in our room rate, so we paid approximately €13 per person extra to have breakfast at the hotel.
Unfortunately, we didn’t think it was worth the additional cost. During our stay, the selection felt very limited, particularly compared with other hotel breakfasts we have had in Spain.
For €13 per person, we expected considerably more choice.
This is, of course, based on our own experience during our stay in June 2026, and the breakfast selection may change. However, if we stayed at Hotel Baviera again, we would book the room without breakfast and eat at one of the cafés in central Marbella instead.
With the hotel being so centrally located, there are plenty of alternatives within walking distance.
Hotel Baviera Marbella – Pros and Cons
After spending a night at Hotel Baviera, we think its biggest strength is clear: location.
This is not a luxury resort where you come to spend the entire day beside a pool. It works much better as a comfortable base for exploring Marbella and the surrounding Costa del Sol.

Our Verdict – Would We Stay at Hotel Baviera Again?
Yes, we would – but next time we would skip the breakfast.
For us, Hotel Baviera worked well because we wanted somewhere comfortable and central rather than a resort experience. Once we had parked the car, we could explore Marbella on foot and return to the hotel without worrying about driving around the city centre.
Its location also made a good base for exploring more of Marbella and the surrounding area. We also visited Puerto Banús after dark, which has a very different atmosphere from central Marbella.

If we returned to Marbella for another short city break, Hotel Baviera would remain on our shortlist – mainly because of its central location, practical room and the fact that almost everything we wanted to see in central Marbella was within walking distance.
